1. Introduction

Mansa Musa Renaissance Financials Ltd respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website and the Insure Barometer platform, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.

2. What we collect

Information you give us:

• Account details — name, email address, phone number, password (stored only as an encrypted hash, never in readable form)
• Profile details — age, gender, country, district, occupation category, number of dependants
• Financial information you enter — income, expenses, existing cover, savings, NSSF balances
• Policy details you enter into the Policy Checker, and any claim-support request you submit
• Messages you send us, including AI Advisor conversations and website enquiries

Information collected automatically: basic technical data such as device type, browser and approximate location derived from your connection, used to keep the service working and secure.

3. Why we use it

• To calculate your protection shield, gap analysis and other results
• To create and secure your account, and to sync your data across your devices
• To issue certificates you earn in the Life Insurance Academy
• To respond to enquiries and to pursue claim-support requests on your behalf, where you ask us to
• To improve our tools and understand, in aggregate, how they are used

We rely on your consent (which you may withdraw), on the performance of our service to you, and on our legitimate interest in operating and improving the platform.

4. What we never do

• We do not sell your personal data. Not to insurers, not to advertisers, not to anyone
• We do not share your individual financial figures with insurers or partners without your explicit request
• We do not use your data to make automated decisions that produce legal effects for you

5. When we share data

We share personal data only in these situations:

• At your request — for example, when you ask us to pursue a claim with your insurer, we share what is necessary to do so
• Service providers — our hosting provider and, where you use the AI Advisor, the AI provider that generates the reply. They process data on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes
• Legal obligation — where required by Ugandan law, a court, or a regulator

6. AI Advisor

When you use the AI Advisor, your question and relevant figures from your profile are sent to an external AI provider to generate a response. Do not enter information you would not wish to share with a third-party processor, such as identity-document numbers or bank credentials.

7. Storage and security

Data is stored on secured servers. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and are never readable by us or by our staff. Traffic is encrypted in transit using TLS. Access to administrative systems is restricted.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will act promptly and inform you and the relevant authority where the law requires it.

8. How long we keep it

We keep account and calculation data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records to meet a legal obligation.

9. Your rights

Under Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete
• Ask us to delete your data
• Withdraw consent, and object to certain processing
• Complain to the Personal Data Protection Office of Uganda

10. Children

Our services are intended for people aged 18 and over. Where a student under 18 uses the educational features, we expect a parent or guardian to consent and supervise. We do not knowingly collect financial data from children without that consent.

11. Cookies and local storage

We use your browser’s local storage to keep you signed in, to remember your preferences such as your chosen colour theme, and to let the app work offline. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The “last updated” date above shows when it last changed, and material changes will be highlighted on the website.
